[attr="class","banditttttt2"] Left. Right. Left. Right. L-

Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted when she crashed into a tree, her gaze lowered down at the ground, staring at the path her paws walked. The little apprentice hoped that in time, this gracelessness would phase out - as had many. But it seemed that thus-far, things were not improving. Cloverpaw was impatient when it came to learning new things. She had many dreams and ambitions and it felt like all of them were unhold because she was clumsy (and maybe a little too careless). So she decided that she’d go out on her own today and prove someone wrong. She’d catch a mouse and returned unscathed. No new bumps or bruises and certainly nothing worse than just a little disorientation and maybe getting lost in the territory.

Sighing heavily, she plopped down onto the ground and smoothed the fur at the top of her head down. Raising her large blue gaze up from the ground below, she sighed softly and rose to her paws once more. Her eyes were mildly crossed and while she could still function, things could get a little blurry, especially when she tried to take in minor details. Twitching her tail, the apprentice began to make her way further through the territory.

She’d been dismissed from training early and snuck away from camp to practice her hunting instead of lounging about with the other apprentices. The idea of getting caught was exhilarating only because she knew she should probably be more careful and wasn’t particularly open to the idea of getting in trouble. IF it happened, well that would be a bridge she’d need to cross when it did, but for now, Cloverpaw knew that the world was her oyster and nothing would stand in her way.

The sound of hurried paws approaching made her ears quiver and the flame-point she turned quickly just in time to jump out of the way of the flash of ginger that ran past. The smell of MoorClan washed over her, making her certain it was one of her clan-mates but there was something even more familiar than that.

Wait up!” She squeaked, immediately taking off after the flash of fur that flew by.

LILYPAW
- we can burn brighter than the sun -
She had to get out of there. She felt like she had been stuck at camp for days, even though she knew she had been out with Fallowbreeze the day before. She was tired of doing tedious chores around camp. Fetching kill for the queens, bringing water to the elders, patching holes and fluffy nests. It was boring and sucking the life out of her. She knew she wasn't supposed to leave camp without the company of a warrior, but she needed to stretch her legs, needed fresh air. And what air was fresher than the Lavender Fields of MoorClan? Even with leaf-bare upon them, she swore she could smell the scent of lavender wafting in the breeze, lavender and.... something else. She dropped to a crouch instantly in instinct. The smell was warm and sweet, familiar and definitely a MoorClan cat. Her heart beat quickened as she ran through the list of possible warriors it could be, if she was spotted she would surely be in trouble. And she was certain she would be stuck doing the tedious and borning chores, of which she was so desperately trying to escape, until the next Gathering, which she wouldn't attend.

She dared to sneak a little closer, her body pressed as close to the ice cold ground as she could manage, trying to catch a peek at who was working the fields. Finally, she spotted movement! Her target was orange, too light colored to be Foxhowl or Redwhisper. Even to light to be her brother, Aloepaw. At the realization there was only one other option, her heart leaped. 'Hello, dear sister.. Sitting so peacefully. Don't you know it's dangerous for an apprentice to be out alone?' She kneaded the ground with her front claws and her tail twitched playfully. She stalked closer, watching Cloverpaw groom herself, before she sprang into a sprint. She quickly overtook her sister, narrowly avoiding a collision as she raced past her calling out, "Catch me if you can, turtle legs!" She giggled loudly, both at her own joke and in the fun of the race. "First one to the edge of the field is a skunk butt!"

She narrowed her eyes, focusing on her destination. The fields were rather large and Cloverpaw may have time to catch up if she weren't so clumsy. Lilypaw slowed her pace on slightly to let her sister catch up. It was never fun to beat someone easily. And she didn't want her to feel badly about herself. Lilypaw knew Cloverpaw would be a fantastic warrior someday, she was still young and learning to control her body in the same ways Lilypaw was.

ALOEPAW
Unlike his two particularly playful and apparently terribly bored sisters, Aloepaw was not really the type to sneak out of camp unnoticed to frolic like a fresh lamb through the lavender fields despite the biting chill of leafbare. Instead, he was taking his duties as an apprentice as seriously as he often did, and while not out with his mentor Starlingstep at the moment, he was indeed out with another warrior who had agreed to take him for a little hunting practice while she was busy. Aloepaw had even managed to catch a meadow vole despite the lack of prey and grumbling bellies the season was bringing them with a vengeance this time. In truth, he was pretty proud of himself. All he wanted was to do good for his clan, and he was!

That was, until a flash of fur and the pounding of paws came far too late to warn him of the feline who bowled straight into him. With a yowl of surprise, the tom toppled over into the bloomless lavenders, claws readying to dig into the pelt of his attacker, before her familiar scent filled his nose and any curses he might have yowled fell into surprised laughter.

"Hey, furbrain!" he laughed, batting his hind paws playfully at the belly of his sister. "When did ya get so heavy, huh?" It was only after a playful - albeit gentle - nip to her ear that his gaze settled upon his other sister over her shoulder, both ginger and white to rival his own shades, spread within a sea of what would have been purple in any other season. Mid-nip, he froze, and drew away from his sister's ear and attempts at initiating a playfight to crane his neck back and blink at the warrior accompanying him.

While the tom had cleared his throat to gain the attention of the siblings, there were no scolding words to be heard. Fortunately, he was a young warrior, and it was more fond amusement than annoyance that glimmered in his eyes. "Shouldn't you two be in camp?" The question, too, was colored with amusement, and the tom nudged Aloepaw's vole between his own paws before lying down, an invitation for the siblings to continue, if ever there was one.

"Guess I can say I was watching you. So long as you 'paws stick to rules like your brother from now on, no need for Applecloud to be bothered by something so trivial." Aloepaw figured the warrior was probably remembering his own experiences not too many moons ago sneaking out like the two young mollies. Still, the ginger tom offered a grateful purr and a cheerful grin, before wriggling away from one sister to spring toward the other.

"Bet you're easier to catch than that vole!" he teased, flicking his tail toward his catch.

[attr="class","banditttttt3"]CLOVERPAW
[attr="class","banditttttt2"]I’m not a skunk butt!” She declared loudly after her sister before picking up speed after the blur of ginger that disappeared into the dead lavender stalks and drifts of snow. The clumsier she-cat wove as best she could through the stalks but was unsuccessful most of the time, leaving a path of broken stalks ahead and quite the noise behind. Any prey that were in the immediate area would have been deaf or stupid to stick around - but Cloverpaw had all but forgotten the soft pang in her belly from hunger that often hung around during leafbare. The only thing on her mind now was catching Lilypaw.

She’d been a few fox lengths behind when the laughter of her brother was heard and her determination broke into a bright smile instead. Slowing her pace, she trotted through the snow to see him playfully nipping Lilypaw’s ear. She’d been focused on him and hadn’t seen the warrior until he spoke, jolting slightly at the sound of his voice before padding the rest of the distance between her and her siblings.

The scolding fell loosely on her ears and she twitched them in response, giving a nod about not going out of camp unsupervised, knowing full well that she had no intention to listen to such a silly request. She’d merely make sure Sagemist accompanied her next time. As Aloepaw turned his attention toward her, the little she-cat lowered herself to the ground and wiggled her bum in the air. She pounced toward him, batting playfully in return. “You caught a vole? Good job, Aloepaw.” She purred as she squirmed in their playing, going for his tail.

Though she quickly lost interest in the appendage and wriggled herself from her brother’s grasp. She turned her gaze out toward the meadow, straining her eyes to see the distance of it and watch as the stalks bowed to the breeze. The territory seemed so big and so small sometimes, knowing that there was an end to this meadow filled the little she-cat with frustration but she was quick to dismiss it, instead looking back at her siblings and the warrior that laid there watching them. “Do you guys ever wonder what’s out there past the meadow?

She paused, thinking over her words before adding, “Like, the prey, and stuff.” She recovered, sheepishly avoiding the warrior’s gaze in an attempt to sound more like a curious apprentice than one who wanted to explore said world. “Can we go to the edge of the meadow?” She asked her siblings, her little blue eyes dancing with excitement at the prospect of an adventure. “Pleaseeeeee.” She added sweetly to the warrior, offering him a wide smile.

LILYPAW
- we can burn brighter than the sun -
Ah, the breeze in her fur, the feelings of he paws pounding against the earth. Was there anything more freeing than this? Before long she bursted through the stalks of lavender and into the open. She had reached the edge before her skunk butt sister and she was the victor in their little race. She ignored the fact that she had given herself a bit of a headstart when she sprung the race on Cloverpaw. She turned her head over her shoulder to see if she had emerged yet, forgetting to slow down her sprint.

Then, suddenly THUD.

Lilypaw crashed. She had expected to find herself in a bush or have collided with a tree, but the scent she breathed in was much warmer and inviting. "Aloepaw!" The fiery she-cat practically cheered with excitement until her eyes caught his companion. 'Mouse dung..' She scrambled to stablize herself, nervously, batting his nips away and all the while glaring playfully at her brother. If they hadn't been in mixed company she would've shot her tongue out at him, too. Her eyes sparkled when Cloverpaw joined the group, "Finally caught up, skunk butt," barely containing her giggles. Her tail swayed in amusement before she was reminded of the higher-ranked tom that sat nearby. Too nervous to move, she wasn't bothered by the fact that she still sat atop Aloepaw. Maybe it would keep them both from messing around if she could keep him pinned down.

But, trouble didn't find her, for the words that came were not those of anger or disappointment. The young warrior seemed light-hearted and almost amused, even. Lilypaw relaxed and felt herself release a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. "Yes, of course," she murmured gratefully at his request. Her eyes briefly catching the vole beside the warrior before Aloepaw shoved her off of him, she rolled away with an oof. She shook her head and rose from the frozen ground, eager to pull her belly fur from the cold. "YOU caught that, Aloepaw?!" Lilypaw asked excitedly. She looked proudly at her brother, a smile creeping over her features. What a feat for a.young apprentice! She had never had a doubt in the warrior her brother would become.

She was busy in her happiness for Aloepaw's achievement when she heard Cloverpaw's distant tone and she looked curiously at her sister. It seemed as if her mind were miles from this place. She watched as she pulled herself back from whatever place she was in and back pedal a bit into her own question. Lilypaw hadn't really thought much about it, frankly. She was still learning the way of MoorClan territory and hadn't troubled herself worry about anything much beyond knowing where the borders to other clan territories began. And did it really matter anyway? Her brow furrowed and she peeked over to see Aloepaw's reaction.

ALOEPAW
While his sister's excitement in noticing it was her brother she had bumbled into was short lived, Aloepaw was not worried. Once she was assured they were in no trouble it was quick to return, and she let him up from her harmless batting and playful glares for him to play around with Cloverpaw as well.

Cloverpaw was a little more enthusiastic in her play, batting toward him before she aimed for his tail, the young tom trying to flicker it out of her reach in amusement, though ultimately failing. However, his sister's playful attitude was quick to fade as well, much to his disappointment, and she wriggled away to stare into the distance. For a moment Aloepaw frowned and followed his gaze, before shrugging it off. She was always easily distracted.

Instead, the tom puffed out his chest and turned a proud grin toward Lilypaw, leaving Cloverpaw to her thoughts.

"You bet I did!" he laughed, tail whisking behind him as he gave a playful swat toward her. "One day I'll be catching rabbits big as you!" Nevermind the fact he was barely bigger than Lilypaw as it was. The warrior nearby seemed amused by Aloepaw's playful antics with his sisters, having experienced nothing more than calm, respect and obedience from the young tom since they had left camp, though the apprentice barely noticed this.

Instead, his attention was tugged back toward Cloverpaw as she spoke again, and playfulness dropping, the tom blinked at the distance in her voice and glanced her way. Her correction seemed...odd, especially the shyness that it came with, and Aloepaw shared a glance with Lilypaw, her furrowed brow matching his own. However, Cloverpaw was always and odd one, and Aloepaw was never one to dampen her spirits. So, he drew a smile back onto his face and swayed his tail behind him.

"Haven't really thought about it, but there's no harm in learning the territory better," he said, giving Lilypaw a slight nudge with his shoulder to get her on board. "Right, Lilypaw?"

The tom's gaze flickered toward the warrior, who offered a slight nod.

"So long as you don't go crossing any borders," the warrior warned, earning a quick nod from Aloepaw. "I suppose there is nothing wrong with being a little curious. Come on, maybe I can teach you three a thing or two.

[attr="class","banditttttt3"]CLOVERPAW
[attr="class","banditttttt2"] Studying the rabbit that Aloepaw was proudly displaying her and Lilypaw, the little she-cat chuckled at the thought of him finding anything as big as Lilypaw. She was clearly imagining him trying to take down a rabbit that large, leaping on its back and trying to wrestle it to the ground when her attention was pulled out to the dried stalks of lavender that crumbled and billowed softly where it was not buried by the snow.

Cloverpaw was taken back slightly by the thought that her siblings had never thought of the world that existed past MoorClan. The very notion seemed impossible because there were many nights where she’d laid in her nest imagining how far the world stretched past their border. While MoorClan’s territory seemed vast some days, there were others where the little flame-point feline realized just how stuck she truly was. And hearing the chimes of her brother and the warrior who had taken charge of them for the afternoon, she tried to disguise how far her heart fell by instead turning to look at Lilypaw, offering a smile.

She’d been oblivious to the way her siblings furrowed their brows and looked at each other in question but that largely came from the fact that Cloverpaw’s thoughts were so focused around the could-bes and the what-ifs that she forgot to keep her paws firmly planted on the ground. It resulted in a lot of bumps and bruises - especially because she had a tendency of letting her mind wander while she was walking, but she made do.

Lilypaw, come on, it’ll be funnnn.” She coaxed, offering a smile and a wiggle of her tail as she tried to sell her sister on the adventure she was already scheming. They were lucky - or perhaps she unlucky - that a warrior had happened along to their adventure because had there been no supervision, who knew how far her antics could take her. And Aloepaw and Lilypaw certainly didn’t need to be dragged into it. All the same, Cloverpaw found a spring in her step as she practically bounced through the snow, making her way deeper into the field. She paused only briefly to make sure that her siblings and their babysitter (at least in her eyes) had been following before continuing on without delay.

🌼 seeing Aloepaw react similarly, though perhaps less apparent, to cloverpaw's behavior only made her more concerned. She had been holding onto the slight hope that maybe she was reading a little to much into cloverpaw's unique question, but now she was confirmed that something was off. Now she was trying to decide whether feeding into whatever this was was the right solution or if it really was harmless to join her. Aloepaw's confused expression was quickly replaced with a smile and encouraging words. She knew his nudge was meant to knock her out of her thoughts and support their sister but something just didn't feel right.

But before she could mew in retort, the warrior babysitter agreed to accompany the trio to the border and Lilypaw knew there was no pulling her sister away from this opportunity. She shifted her paws nervously as the rest of the group headed away from her. Her ears caught cloverpaw's playful instigation and she offered the molly and half smile as she pulled herself forward after the rest of the group with a sigh.

"So where are we going, exactly?" she murmured, her words thick with uneasiness. She glanced quickly over her shoulder back toward camp. Toward safety. Toward home. It wasn't like her to not be up for an adventure but something about the way Cloverpaw spoke of what could be past the meadow put her on edge. What were they getting themselves into?

`ooc notes; we should have something exciting happen at the edge of the meadow. Any ideas?
