Mapleblossom is quite the mix of her parents, inheriting her mother's slender frame, but her father's coloration. Oftentimes she’s described as “oddly cute” for her unusual appearance. Her pelt is a mixture between an array of shades. Earthy brown stripes adorn her fur, while a patch of white sits above her pink, dappled nose. She has white markings on her chin and chest, which trail down to her underbelly and resurface as white toe socks. Mapleblossom has yellow eyes as round as the full moon, quite a noticeable feature.
LIKES || wavestep , flowers, birds, socializing when she can DISLIKES || teasing, fighting, mud STRENGTHS || Incredibly caring for others, passionate, notice things in detail, stamina WEAKNESS || slow mental processing, social skills, disassociation, naive DREAMS || To have a family of her own one day and be truly accepted by someone FEARS || That she'll end up feeling alone and misunderstood forever.
Mapleblossom is gentle and passionate about her interests. When she loves, she loves genuinely with her whole being. She’s Innocent and naive. Maple can’t help but believe what people tell her and doesn't seem to understand jokes and sarcasm.
Mapleblossom is mentally slow, due to the suffering of her mother during kit-hood. She processes information at a slower pace than most, taking time to let the words sink in. This can lead to her being quiet for long bouts of time, which can be quite uncomfortable for whoever she’s socializing with. Telling a lie is almost impossible, as the femme is quite blunt when she speaks. If you need the truth, she’ll always tell you as it is, or how she’s observed it to be. Mapleblossom struggles with eye contact, even when she’s comfortable with whoever she’s speaking with.
Overstimulation makes her quite distressed in which she’ll retreat to the comfort of her nest, or her brother Wavestep. When Mapleblossom is overstimulated, she can become irritable and rude, but she tries her best to stay calm so she doesn’t hurt anyone's feelings.
The she-cat has rather odd behaviors, such as her interest in birds. It’s the only prey animal she won’t eat because she’s fascinated by them. However, she will hunt them for the greater good of her clan.
Oftentimes worry plagues her. She wants to be accepted as she is. She’s aware she’s different from her clanmates and the teasing she grew up with only punctured her self esteem to a worse degree. Despite this, she tries her best to see the positives of her life. She hopes the future holds something that makes her feel vibrant and happy.
Dark and cold was the first thing life had to offer Maplekit. She had laid between the rough ground and bedding moss as her mothers crushing weight attempted to end her life. Thankfully this memory doesn’t haunt her, as she was too young to remember.
Growing up wasn’t easy. Maplekit was shy, always hiding behind Wavekit or hidden somewhere alone inspecting the minuscule details of whatever she could find.
No one wanted to play with her. When she tried to play, others turned away and she was left to her own devices. She didn’t mind much though, for she didn’t understand.
As she got older she didn’t speak very often and only felt comfortable talking with a handful of her clanmates. She spent a lot of time in the elder's den, listening to their stories of youth and pride. They never seemed to mind her strange behaviors, maybe they were too old to care or merely knew she was alone.
By the time Maplekit became Maplepaw she had grown to grasp social mannerisms just enough and attempted to socialize as best as she could. The early moons of her apprenticeship were difficult. The teasing became more often and her disassociation during a conversation scared others off. Others would call her mouse brained, unworthy of being a warrior, slow, or creepy. Maplepaw began to suspect others of not liking her, but she didn’t know how to feel. She couldn’t decide if she cared or not until she realized she would be all alone. She spent her time trying to be by her brother Wavepaw’s side, but sometimes he was busy training or making friends.
Much to many of her clanmate's surprise she did become a warrior, being granted the name Mapleblossom. As time went on, some of those who teased her have apologized for their cruel words during their youth and others not.
Mapleblossom has grown enough to know it’s okay not everyone's going to like her and that the likes of others shouldn’t ever limit her happiness.
